Organizational Context

Job Purpose
The Programme Associate provides essential support to the Programme Team in developing and implementing effective UN Women programmes. This role contributes to research, financial management, and programme execution, ensuring operational, administrative, and programmatic activities align with UN Women regulations. The Associate collaborates closely with operations, programme, and project staff, as well as UN Women Headquarters, to resolve complex financial issues and facilitate information exchange, thereby supporting the overall mission of advancing gender equality in Sri Lanka.
Responsibilities
The Programme Associate provides comprehensive administrative and logistical support for programme formulation and management, including preparing work plans, budgets, and proposals, and offering technical guidance on delivery and finances. They manage financial administration by creating projects in the Quantum system, preparing budget revisions, and processing payments. The role involves undertaking logistical, administrative, and financial arrangements for meetings, workshops, and missions, making travel arrangements, and preparing briefing materials. Additionally, the Associate supports resource mobilization by compiling donor information and facilitates knowledge building by assisting with the synthesis of lessons learned and organizing training. They also assist in drafting Terms of Reference for consultants and managing their payment schedules, ensuring compliance with UN/UN Women rules and regulations.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in administration or programme management/support is required. Proficiency in computer environments with multiple office software packages and experience supporting a team are also necessary. Experience with a modern web-based ERP system, such as Oracle Cloud, is desirable.

Programme management, procurement processes, administrative rules and regulations, data synthesis and presentation, document and workflow management, financial and budgeting skills, IT proficiency.
