In Guatemala, UN Women supports the implementation of the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda (WPSA) and the National Action Plan (NAP 1325), aiming to strengthen women's leadership and participation in peacebuilding and decision-making processes.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to develop a territorial implementation strategy for the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda (WPSA), including the NAP 1325. The strategy will provide clear guidelines for departmental delegates and facilitate the integration of WPSA at the territorial level. The consultant will contribute to strengthening women's leadership and participation in peacebuilding and advancing women's human rights in line with national and international frameworks, ensuring progress towards gender equality and sustainable peace.
Responsibilities
The consultant will develop a territorial implementation strategy for the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda (WPSA), including the NAP 1325. This involves creating a methodological strategy and work plan with a territorial approach and results-based management. The consultant will review and analyze reference information on the WPSA and its implementation in Guatemala, ensuring alignment with national policies and the Peace Agreements. The strategy will focus on enhancing women's access to justice, participation in decision-making, prevention of violence, and dignified reparations, contributing to the overall goal of promoting women's rights and gender equality.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in gender equality, women's human rights, peacebuilding, or related fields is required. Experience in developing strategies, policy analysis, and working with governmental and civil society organizations, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean, is highly desirable. Experience with the Women, Peace, and Security agenda and UN Security Council Resolution 1325 is essential.
