The UN Women PNG Country Office seeks a Driver to provide essential, safe, and reliable transportation services for its personnel, officials, and visitors, ensuring discretion and adherence to security protocols.

Job Purpose

The Driver is responsible for providing secure and dependable driving services to UN Women PNG Country Office staff, high-ranking officials, and visitors. This role ensures the safe transport of personnel and documents, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and discretion. The Driver will also support basic administrative and clerical tasks within the office, contributing to the efficient operation of the country office and upholding UN Women's mission.

Responsibilities

Provide reliable and secure driving services for authorized personnel, including transport of mail, documents, and other items to various offices and establishments. Meet and assist official personnel and visitors at the airport, managing visa and customs formalities when required. Ensure all passengers use seatbelts and adhere to safety regulations. Respond appropriately to any vehicle accidents according to rules and regulations. Maintain the assigned vehicle in good working condition, ensuring cleanliness and performing minor repairs. Keep daily logs of vehicle usage, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance. Ensure the vehicle is equipped with necessary documents, supplies, and safety equipment. Provide general administrative and logistic support, such as filing, photocopying, and distribution of publications.

Work Experience

A minimum of 2 years of experience as a driver is required, preferably within an international organization, embassy, or the UN system, with a proven safe driving record.

Skills

Excellent driving skills, knowledge of driving rules and regulations, local road conditions, defensive driving, minor vehicle repair skills, and punctuality.
