Organizational Context

Job Purpose

This role supports UN Women Türkiye's "Reimagining Gender Equality Across Generations and Communities" project, funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The project aims to reduce gender inequalities by empowering civic groups and young women as agents of change. The consultant will contribute to developing an engagement framework for youth-focused activities, ensuring inclusivity and strategic alignment with project objectives on gender equality, positive masculinities, and youth-led change. The role facilitates safe and collaborative spaces for young women and men to advance gender equality and supports outreach and mobilization efforts.

Responsibilities

The National Consultant will be responsible for developing the conceptual framework, thematic focus, and session content for two Youth Gatherings, ensuring alignment with project objectives on gender equality, youth engagement, feminist movement-building, and engagement of men and boys. This includes designing participatory and interactive methodologies, integrating cross-cutting themes like intersectionality and countering gender backlash, and ensuring content is context-sensitive and inclusive. The consultant will provide facilitation support during the gatherings, creating safe and respectful spaces for engagement between young women and men. They will also support outreach and participant mobilization efforts, working with civil society organizations and youth platforms to ensure diverse participation and achieve target numbers, with attention to inclusion and local context.

Work Experience

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in youth engagement, with a focus on designing and implementing gender equality programs using participatory methodologies. Experience in facilitating interactive activities like workshops and trainings, engaging diverse stakeholders (youth, CSOs, grassroots initiatives), and delivering capacity development on gender equality is essential. Experience in documenting discussions and preparing high-quality written outputs in English and Turkish is desirable.
