Job Purpose
The Country Programme Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of UN Women's interventions within the Americas and Caribbean Regional Office. This role ensures the effective delivery of day-to-day programme activities, monitors resource utilization, and facilitates collaboration with national partners. The coordinator provides technical support in key areas such as women's peace and security, economic empowerment, and ending violence against women, contributing to the advancement of gender equality and women's empowerment in the region.
Responsibilities
Oversees country programme management, including coordinating the development, implementation, and monitoring of annual work plans and budgets. Manages day-to-day programme activities to ensure timely results and monitors resource use against UN Women policies and donor requirements. Provides technical support and capacity development to project partners in areas like women's peace and security, economic empowerment, political participation, and ending violence against women. Facilitates partner relationships and coordinates capacity-building initiatives. Contributes to monitoring and reporting, including drafting progress and donor reports and conducting field missions. Supports people and financial management by monitoring budgets, providing input for financial reports, and managing office operations. Contributes to inter-agency coordination, UN Country Team processes, and joint programming. Supports resource mobilization strategies and knowledge management activities, identifying best practices and lessons learned.
Work Experience
Requires at least two years of progressive experience in designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating development projects. Experience in establishing inter-relationships between international organizations and national governments is essential. Experience in gender and women's human rights is desirable. Experience leading and coaching staff in international settings and proficiency with computer software and web-based management systems are required. Experience with Oracle Cloud is desirable.
