This role supports the MCO's evaluation needs, contributing to evidence-based programming and accountability across the region.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to establish a roster of National Evaluation Consultants to support UN Women's Fiji Multi-Country Office in conducting decentralized and corporate evaluations. The consultants will provide technical and analytical expertise throughout the evaluation cycle, ensuring adherence to UN Women's standards. Their work will strengthen evaluation implementation, contribute to rigorous design and analysis, support inclusive processes, and facilitate the collection and analysis of evidence. Ultimately, the consultancy will help generate credible evidence to improve programming and policy engagement on gender equality and women's empowerment across the Pacific region.
Responsibilities
Consultants will provide technical and operational support across all phases of UN Women evaluations. This includes reviewing relevant documentation, conducting portfolio analyses, and supporting the development of evaluation methodologies and data collection tools. They will contribute to inclusive, human rights-based stakeholder analyses and consultations, and support the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative evidence to identify results, challenges, and lessons learned. Key tasks involve contributing analytical inputs to inception reports, presentations, and final synthesis reports, as well as preparing evaluation annexes. Consultants will ensure all deliverables meet UN Women's quality assurance standards, including GERAAS criteria and the Editorial Style Guide, contributing to improved programming and policy engagement.
Work Experience
Requires at least 5 years (Master's) or 7 years (Bachelor's) of relevant experience in evaluation, review, or assessment assignments with development organizations. Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative research, gender analysis, and familiarity with UN Women's mandate are essential. Experience in the Pacific region is highly desirable.
