Job Purpose
The Programme Assistant for UN Women Uruguay will provide programmatic, administrative, and coordination support for the implementation of UN Women projects and programmes. This role is vital for ensuring efficient and effective delivery of results in line with UN Women's standards. The incumbent will support the management and monitoring of partner agreements, contribute to the coordination of the UN Gender Interagency Group, and assist in the implementation and coordination of programmes and projects developed by the Uruguay office. Close collaboration with programme and operations staff, implementing partners, UN agencies, and government counterparts is key to achieving timely and impactful outcomes.
Responsibilities
Provide technical, administrative, and operational support for the implementation, follow-up, and monitoring of Country Office programmes and projects. Support the development of work plans, reports, monitoring matrices, and other programmatic documents. Coordinate logistical and administrative aspects of meetings, workshops, trainings, and project-related activities. Follow up on activities and commitments with implementing partners, public institutions, UN agencies, and other project stakeholders. Provide technical, administrative, and logistical support for the coordination and functioning of the Gender Interagency Group, including organizing meetings and tracking agreements. Coordinate procurement and purchasing processes for the Country Office, including supporting the preparation of procurement plans, reviewing requests, initiating purchase procedures, and preparing solicitation documents. Support the preparation of presentations for the Procurement Review Committee and implement the Partner Agreement hiring process.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in administrative management, programme support, project coordination, or related areas is required. Experience with computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) is necessary. Experience with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud/Quantum/Prism, is desirable.
Skills
Knowledge of administrative and programmatic processes, institutional regulations, and procedures. Proficiency in spreadsheet software and database management tools. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Capacity to manage and execute administrative processes and transactions. Ability to handle confidential information and manage a high workload. Good command of IT tools and web-based management platforms.
