Job Purpose

This consultancy aims to support UN Women China's private sector engagement strategy, focusing on resource mobilization and partnership building. The consultant will play a key role in managing the national process and milestones for the 2026 Asia Pacific Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Awards. This involves supporting companies applying for the awards, facilitating the jury process, and contributing to the planning and execution of the national awards ceremony. The role also involves outreach to potential private sector organizations for strategic partnerships and resource mobilization, aligning with UN Women's global and regional strategies.

Responsibilities

The consultant will implement UN Women China's private sector engagement strategy under the guidance of the Head of Partnerships. Key responsibilities include supporting the national WEPs Awards process by providing FAQ support, initial scoring of applications, securing and onboarding a jury panel, and notifying shortlisted companies. The consultant will also develop a detailed workplan and supporting documents for the 2026 China WEPs Awards Ceremony, including concept notes, invitations, and logistics. Additionally, the role involves targeted outreach to high-potential private sector organizations for strategic partnerships and resource mobilization, and securing new sponsors for the awards ceremony. Post-event communications and lessons learned documentation are also expected.

Work Experience

Requires at least two years of work experience in or with private sector entities, preferably in strategy consulting, fundraising, marketing, public relations, resource mobilization, or business development. Experience in fundraising, resource mobilization, and partnership building, particularly with the private sector in China, is also necessary. Experience in planning and executing high-level events with private sector entities is desired. Experience in gender equality and women's empowerment is an advantage.
