Job Purpose
This role supports the "Making Migration Safe for Women" programme by developing a policy brief on migrant women and disabilities. The purpose is to inform policy and practice, ensuring a gender-responsive and human rights-based approach to migration governance, with a specific focus on mental health, psychosocial, and physical disabilities.
Responsibilities
The consultant will conduct background research and develop an outline and timeline for the policy brief. Key responsibilities include organizing and facilitating a virtual consultation with diverse stakeholders to gather lived experiences and perspectives of migrant women with disabilities. The consultant will also identify and interview key stakeholders, prepare a summary note of the consultation, and draft the policy brief, incorporating feedback through revisions. Deliverables include the final policy brief, key findings and messages for communications, and a plain language summary.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of experience in research on gender equality, women's rights, and migration is required, with demonstrated experience in disability rights or inclusion. Experience in producing policy-oriented research, briefs, or knowledge products is necessary. Familiarity with relevant international policy and normative frameworks is also required.
