Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to support private companies and business associations in Ukraine to advance the implementation of the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs). The consultant will provide practical assistance in assessing, developing, and adapting internal policies and practices related to gender equality and women's economic empowerment. This includes supporting areas like equal opportunities, non-discrimination, prevention of sexual harassment, and inclusive workplace practices. The role also involves contributing to capacity-building activities, fostering engagement with companies and partners, and assisting with ad hoc requests to promote WEPs implementation and partnership development, thereby contributing to Ukraine's inclusive and sustainable recovery.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide technical and coordination support for WEPs-related activities. Key duties include assisting private companies and business associations in reviewing, developing, and adapting internal policies and practices for gender equality and women's economic empowerment, including self-assessments and Gender Action Plans. The role involves developing, consolidating, and maintaining databases for WEPs activities, training participants, and partner engagement. Support will be provided for the implementation and coordination of WEPs engagement activities, identifying and sharing relevant opportunities for companies, and contributing to initiatives that advance women's economic empowerment. The consultant will also prepare progress updates and final reports, and support engagement with companies through various formats, including potential field visits.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant work experience post-Master's degree is required in areas such as labour markets, private sector engagement, gender equality, and women's economic empowerment. Experience in providing training and consulting to private businesses on women's economic empowerment, conducting gender analysis, surveys, research, assessments, and developing gender-responsive policies is essential. Proven experience working with diverse stakeholders, including the private sector, CSOs, and development partners, is necessary. Advanced understanding of gender equality and the Women's Empowerment Principles is also required.
Skills
Functional competencies include a good understanding of gender equality and women's economic empowerment frameworks, particularly the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs), and their application in private sector operations. Experience in engaging with private sector companies and business associations, including communication, coordination, and follow-up, is crucial. Demonstrated experience in supporting the review, development, and adaptation of corporate policies related to gender equality is also highlighted.
