Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to strengthen UN Women's global media positioning and influence public narratives on gender equality, women's rights, and emerging issues like digital violence and AI. The Media Analyst will support the media team in navigating complex news cycles and reputational risks within a fast-paced global environment. The role involves proactive identification of trends and contributing to strategic decision-making through media monitoring, analysis, and insights, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The Media Analyst will conduct daily monitoring of global, regional, and national media, including digital and social platforms, to identify trends, narratives, and reputational risks. Responsibilities include contributing to clear media analysis reports, tracking social media conversations using tools like Meltwater, and identifying influencers and high-impact content. The role also involves building and maintaining a global media contact database, supporting strategic storytelling by identifying compelling angles, and assisting in the administrative management of media platforms and vendor relations.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in media analysis, digital communications, or a related field. Essential experience includes a strong understanding of global media and social media landscapes, and proficiency with media monitoring and analytics tools. Familiarity with media distribution tools like Mailchimp is also needed. Experience in reputational monitoring and crisis communications is an asset.
