Job Purpose
The Programme Coordination Specialist (EVAW) supports the effective management of UN Women programmes in the Tunisia and Libya Cluster Office, with a specific focus on Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) interventions. This role provides substantive technical and coordination support, ensuring results-based monitoring, reporting, and knowledge management for EVAW initiatives in physical and digital public spaces. The specialist contributes to programme design, formulation, implementation, evaluation, and resource mobilization, aiming to achieve transformational progress in eliminating and preventing violence against women. The position also facilitates learning, advocacy, and strategic events, working collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure successful programme delivery.
Responsibilities
The Programme Coordination Specialist is responsible for coordinating the EVAW Programme/Portfolio by providing substantive inputs to programme design, formulation, and implementation, and identifying areas for intervention. This includes developing annual workplans and budgets, leading proposal calls, and preparing briefing materials for the Country Representative on EVAW and safe public spaces. The role involves guiding coordination with national partners, maintaining relationships, monitoring partner reports, and identifying capacity-building opportunities. Additionally, the specialist coordinates monitoring and reporting on programme progress using results-based management tools, drafts reports, and provides inputs for donor and UN Women reports. The position also supports resource mobilization strategies and develops partnerships. Furthermore, the role involves advocating and facilitating knowledge building, management, and communication, including preparing social media assets, drafting communications, developing background documents, and coordinating events and knowledge exchanges.
Work Experience
Requires at least 5 years of progressive experience in programme/project design, implementation, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building, with a focus on violence against women and its drivers. Experience in coordinating with civil society, women's rights organizations, public institutions, and donors is essential. Experience in monitoring and reporting for projects is also required. Desirable experience includes work on EVAW in physical and digital spaces, developing knowledge management tools, partnerships, and communications in gender equality, and using ERP systems like Oracle Cloud.
