The Markets for Change (M4C) project, implemented by UN Women in partnership with UNDP and governments, aims to promote gender equality and economic empowerment for women market vendors. This Project Associate role provides crucial administrative, finance, and operational support to the M4C project in Samoa.
Job Purpose
The Project Associate provides essential administrative, finance, and operations support for the Markets for Change (M4C) project in Samoa, reporting to the National Project Manager. This role is critical for the effective management and implementation of the project, ensuring smooth financial operations, accurate record-keeping, and efficient logistical support for project activities. The associate will collaborate closely with the M4C Samoa Team and Fiji MCO staff to ensure consistent service delivery and contribute to the project's overall success in empowering women market vendors.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will provide comprehensive support for the M4C project's financial management, including processing vouchers, maintaining expenditure control systems, and ensuring correct recording of transactions. They will assist with budget checks, create requisitions, and prepare financial reports. Administrative duties include handling routine correspondence, preparing documents for meetings, and developing an efficient filing system. The role also involves providing logistical support for project activities such as conferences and workshops, and ensuring all financial transaction documents are secured. Furthermore, the associate will contribute to knowledge building by supporting training facilitation and synthesizing lessons learned.
Work Experience
Requires at least six years of progressive experience in administrative or programme management and support. Proficiency in computer environments with multiple office software packages is essential. Experience with ERP systems, particularly Oracle Cloud, and experience supporting a team are desirable.
Skills
Programme management knowledge, ability to create and present information clearly, data and document management skills, financial and budgeting skills, IT proficiency.
