UN Women in Georgia supports state and non-state partners in achieving substantive gender equality. The "Women's Economic Empowerment in the South Caucasus" (WEESC) project, funded by SDC and ADA, aims to empower women economically and increase their participation in decision-making. This consultancy supports the National Statistics Office of Georgia in finalizing a Structure of Earnings Survey (SES), aligning with national strategies and EU recommendations.
Job Purpose
This role serves to support the National Statistics Office of Georgia in the finalization of its full-scale Structure of Earnings Survey (SES). The consultant will validate the SES microdata, calculations, and results, ensuring compliance with quality assurance and data analysis standards. The primary purpose is to produce a comprehensive statistical report detailing the main findings and analysis of the SES, contributing to evidence-based policymaking for gender equality and economic empowerment in Georgia, in line with national and international commitments.
Responsibilities
The International Consultant will be responsible for validating the full-scale Structure of Earnings Survey (SES) microdata in Georgia, ensuring adherence to quality assurance requirements. This includes providing guidance on the calculation, validation, and analysis of key indicators, and supporting the validation of statistical weights and consistency with EU SES methodology. The consultant will develop and validate a tabulation plan for data dissemination and prepare a detailed outline for the SES statistical report. Ultimately, the consultant will draft and finalize a comprehensive SES statistical report (15-20 pages), incorporating feedback from UN Women and Geostat, to present the main findings and analysis of the survey.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience (with a Master's degree) or 9 years (with a Bachelor's degree) is required in earnings and/or business statistics. Additionally, at least 7 years of experience in designing and implementing quantitative enterprise surveys, including SES, is necessary. Proficiency in statistical software like STATA, SAS, or R for data analysis is essential. Previous experience with development agencies or the UN is considered an asset.
