Organizational Context
UN Women's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) addresses gender equality and women's empowerment challenges. The office supports 24 countries, focusing on governance, economic empowerment, ending violence against women, and peace and security. This role supports the EU-funded 'PROTECT' project, aimed at safeguarding women migrant workers' rights in Cambodia and Thailand, with a focus on preventing and responding to violence and exploitation.
Job Purpose
The Programme Associate provides essential administrative and programmatic support to the Programme Team at UN Women's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific. This role is crucial for the effective development and implementation of programmes, particularly supporting the 'PROTECT' initiative focused on women migrant workers. The Associate will assist in research, financial management, operational tasks, and ensuring compliance with UN Women regulations, working collaboratively with internal teams and country offices to facilitate programme delivery and achieve project objectives.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and logistical support for programme formulation and management, including work plans, budgets, and proposals. Offer technical guidance to implementing agencies on delivery and reporting, and prepare for programme audits. Support financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, managing budget revisions, processing payments, and monitoring expenditures. Undertake logistical, administrative, and financial arrangements for meetings, workshops, and missions, including travel support. Assist in resource mobilization by preparing agreements and processing donor information. Facilitate knowledge building and sharing by supporting the synthesis of lessons learned and organizing training sessions for staff and partners.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in administration or programme management/support is required. Proficiency in computer use with multiple office software packages and experience supporting a team are essential. Experience with a modern web-based ERP system, such as Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
