Job Purpose
This consultancy supports the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine and other state institutions in conducting gender audits, a crucial tool for analyzing and improving the integration of gender equality principles in their operations. The role contributes to the implementation of Ukraine's State Strategy on Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men. By providing technical expertise and support, the consultant will help these institutions identify areas for development and integrate gender perspectives more effectively, aligning with national gender equality commitments and advancing the country's progress in this area.
Responsibilities
The National Consultant will support the development and finalization of the Gender Audit (GA) Methodology, including validation sessions with working groups. Responsibilities include providing input during expert discussions and technical meetings, facilitating gender audit-related training sessions, and conducting knowledge sharing. The consultant will support the desk review of organizational documents, conduct online surveys, and facilitate key informant interviews. They will also support the detailed analysis of collected data, triangulation of results, and drafting of the GA report with recommendations. Furthermore, the role involves supporting the validation and presentation of the GA report, assisting in the development of an Action Plan for addressing identified issues, and providing other support for implementing audit recommendations, such as updating policy documents or conducting consultations.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant work experience post-Master's degree is required in human rights, gender equality, governance, public administration, or research. Proven experience in planning and conducting gender assessments, analyses, or evaluations, and working with gender-sensitive data is essential. Experience providing advisory support to government institutions on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (GEWE), coordinating meetings with authorities, and a strong understanding of GEWE commitments in Ukraine are also necessary.
