Job Purpose
This consultancy supports the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine and other state institutions in conducting gender audits, a crucial tool for analyzing and improving the integration of gender equality principles in their operations. The role is vital for advancing national gender equality commitments and aligning with the State Strategy on Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men. The consultant will contribute to the development and implementation of gender audit methodologies and action plans, fostering a more gender-responsive public sector in Ukraine.
Responsibilities
The Lead National Consultant will spearhead the development of the Gender Audit (GA) methodology, including desk review materials, surveys, and interview guides, and facilitate validation sessions. Responsibilities include providing expert input during working group meetings, conducting knowledge sharing and training sessions on gender audits, and leading the desk review of organizational documents. The consultant will also lead the analysis of collected data, triangulating findings from various sources, and draft the comprehensive GA report with recommendations. Furthermore, the role involves supporting the validation and presentation of the GA report, assisting in the development of action plans to address identified issues, and providing ongoing support for the implementation of gender audit recommendations.
Work Experience
Requires at least two years of relevant post-Master's experience in human rights, gender equality, governance, public administration, or research. Proven experience in conducting gender assessments, analyses, and audits in state institutions is essential. Experience in providing technical support to government institutions on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (GEWE), coordinating meetings, and a strong understanding of GEWE commitments in Ukraine are also necessary.
