Job Purpose
The Programme Analyst contributes to the effective management of UN Women programmes in Sierra Leone, focusing on women, peace, security, and humanitarian action. This role involves providing substantive inputs to programme design, formulation, implementation, and evaluation. The incumbent will guide and facilitate programme delivery by monitoring results, ensuring appropriate systems and procedures are applied, and developing enhancements as needed. The position requires close collaboration with programme and operations teams, UN Women HQ, government officials, donors, and civil society to ensure successful programme implementation within the assigned portfolio, ultimately strengthening women's engagement for sustainable peace and stability.
Responsibilities
The Programme Analyst will contribute technically to the development of programme strategies in women, peace, security, and humanitarian action, providing substantive inputs to proposals and identifying areas for intervention. They will offer technical support for programme implementation, including developing annual workplans, leading activities, coordinating proposal calls, and monitoring partner reports. Capacity development for partners will be a key function, involving technical support, developing knowledge products, maintaining relationships, and facilitating training. The role also involves monitoring programme progress and finances using results-based management tools, drafting reports, and providing inputs for donor and UN Women reporting. Furthermore, the analyst will manage programme finances, contribute to partnerships and resource mobilization, and support inter-agency coordination on women, peace, and security to ensure programme coherence.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building is required. Experience working with civil society organizations, and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is desirable. Proficiency in computer and office software packages, including spreadsheet and database management, and experience with web-based management systems are essential. Experience with an ERP system like Oracle Cloud is desirable.
