Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to support UN Women's program in Côte d'Ivoire, specifically focusing on the integration of the care economy and green transition nexus into local development and financing plans. The consultant will assist municipalities in developing action plans for care economy integration and facilitate the dissemination of key research findings, such as the 'Care Snapshots' report. The role contributes to UN Women's strategic objective of advancing women's economic empowerment by addressing unpaid care work and promoting gender-responsive economic policies.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide technical support to municipalities for integrating the care economy and green transition nexus into their development and financing plans. This includes producing a guide for integration, organizing validation workshops, and offering direct technical assistance to pilot communes. The consultant will also support the development of action plans for care economy integration to facilitate adherence to the Global Alliance for Care. Furthermore, the role involves disseminating findings from the 'Care Snapshots' report through national workshops and dialogues, contributing to policy discussions on the care economy. The consultant will also provide monthly progress reports and a final activity report, ensuring effective program implementation and results tracking.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of experience in development, focusing on policy reforms in gender and economics, including macroeconomics and women's economic empowerment policies. Experience with the care economy, gender analysis of economics (quantitative and qualitative), program implementation, policy analysis, and strategic planning is essential. Experience in innovative development financing, the care economy-green transition nexus, inclusive finance, or Gender-Responsive Budgeting is an asset. Prior experience with the UN system is also beneficial.

Expertise in gender and economic policies, gender-responsive public policies, and women's economic empowerment. Ability to design and deliver training and capacity-building strategies. Strong writing skills for producing knowledge products. Proficiency in using macroeconomic technical tools. Capacity to develop impactful communication materials. Strong regional knowledge and excellent networking skills. Ability to engage with donors and analyze fundraising trends. Skills in qualitative and quantitative policy research, advocacy, and policy advice.
