Job Purpose
This Programme Analyst role supports UN Women's initiatives in India and the Asia-Pacific region to transform care systems as a pathway to women's economic empowerment. The position provides substantive programme and technical support, focusing on quality care provision, workforce professionalization, care entrepreneurship, innovative financing, and public-private partnerships. The role contributes to the effective management of UN Women’s care systems portfolio by providing inputs to programme design, formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, ensuring alignment between national and regional strategies and fostering collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The Programme Analyst will provide substantive programme and technical support for initiatives transforming care systems to enhance women's economic empowerment. Key responsibilities include contributing to strategic portfolio development and project design, focusing on integrated care systems, childcare solutions, and innovative financing. The role involves leading coordination and technical oversight of care systems initiatives, monitoring programme performance, and ensuring effective collaboration between India Country Office and Regional Office programs. Additionally, the incumbent will provide technical advisory support to government ministries on strengthening care systems, engage with partners on childcare innovation and workforce development, and contribute to strengthening institutional capacities on gender-responsive planning and financing. The role also involves developing strategic partnerships, conceptualizing resource mobilization strategies, and supporting the development of investable pipelines for women-led care enterprises. Furthermore, the position will contribute to evidence generation, research, and knowledge management on care systems transformation, including documenting learnings and disseminating knowledge through various platforms.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building is required. Experience in working on Care Economy initiatives under Women’s Economic Empowerment programming is desirable. Experience leading and liaising with government agencies, donors, and international organizations is required. Proficiency in computer and office software packages, including spreadsheet and database management, is also required.
