Job Purpose
The Human Resources Specialist provides strategic advisory services to senior management and staff on HR strategies, policies, and regulations within the UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP). It also focuses on fostering a positive work environment, promoting learning and performance culture, and building HR capacity for clients and the regional HR community.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic HR advisory to senior management and staff on policies, regulations, organizational design, and workforce planning. Coordinate recruitment processes for international and national staff, ensuring quality assurance and proper contract modality usage. Oversee benefits and entitlements administration, liaising with UNDP, and ensure smooth onboarding/offboarding. Offer technical advice on learning and development, performance management, and workplace relations, including mediation. Build HR capacity through training for clients and contribute to the Regional HR Community of Practice. Supervise junior HR staff and provide technical guidance.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in human resources management is required, with specific experience in recruitment, selection, benefits administration, and HR business partnering. Proficiency in computer software and web-based management systems is essential. Experience with ERP systems like Oracle Cloud, regional experience in Asia and the Pacific, and supervising junior staff are desirable.
