Job Purpose
This role supports the planning and implementation of communication strategies for UN Women's peace and security projects in Indonesia, specifically the WE Nexus project. The Communication Analyst will enhance the visibility of UN Women's work in promoting women's empowerment and leadership within the humanitarian-peace-development nexus. The purpose is to ensure effective communication and outreach, contributing to the project's objectives and UN Women's broader mandate in gender equality and women's empowerment.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement external communication and outreach strategies, integrating them into project communication plans. Monitor and analyze print and social media, providing key insights. Create communication plans for in-country events and campaigns, aligning with UN Women's corporate systems. Design project presentations for stakeholders. Attend relevant meetings and coordinate the development and dissemination of communication materials and knowledge products. Draft briefing materials and press releases, identify publication storylines, and promote corporate communication materials. Coordinate translation, printing, and dissemination of publications and audio-visual materials, providing technical feedback on vendor-developed products. Support media relations, coordinate with the UN Women Communication Team, respond to information inquiries, and organize media events. Manage UN Women's web and social media presence according to corporate policies.
Work Experience
Requires at least two years of professional experience in public relations, communications, or advocacy at the national or international level. A demonstrated understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment is essential. Experience within the UN system, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region or Indonesia, is an asset, as is experience with social media and innovative communication channels.
