Job Purpose
This internship provides graduates with a practical learning and knowledge-testing environment within UN Women Sierra Leone. The intern will collaborate with the UN Women team, contributing to the organization's mandates and supporting programme activities, operations, and administrative functions. The role aims to offer hands-on experience in key portfolio areas such as women's economic empowerment, ending violence against women, and women in peace and security, fostering skill development through mentorship and a better understanding of career goals.
Responsibilities
The intern will work under the guidance of a Programme Specialist or Operations Manager, collaborating closely with the UN Women team. Responsibilities include contributing to UN Women's mandates and supporting the implementation of programme activities, operations, and administrative functions. The role involves gaining practical experience in UN Women's key portfolio areas, which span agriculture, trade, fisheries, digital innovations for women and youth, ending violence against women, and women in peace, security, governance, and politics. The internship also focuses on developing and enhancing skills through mentorship and gaining a clearer understanding of career aspirations through day-to-day activities.
