Job Purpose
The Communications Analyst supports the Head of Office in planning and executing UN Women's communication and advocacy strategies in Timor-Leste. This role aims to increase the organization's standing and public awareness by developing and disseminating advocacy materials, managing media relations, maintaining online presence, and fostering partnerships. The position is crucial for effectively communicating UN Women's mission and impact in promoting gender equality and women's empowerment within the country.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement communication and advocacy strategies, including needs assessments and proposal integration. Produce and disseminate communication materials such as press releases and articles. Manage media relations, including maintaining press databases and organizing events. Build and maintain partnerships with civil society, government, and donors to enhance visibility. Maintain and update the UN Women Timor-Leste website and social media accounts. Facilitate knowledge sharing by identifying best practices and conducting training on communication and advocacy.
Work Experience
Requires at least two years of professional experience in public relations, communications, or advocacy at the national or international level. Experience in media relations and social media usage is considered an asset.
