The Human Resources Business Partner role is part of the Regional Office Management team in the Americas and the Caribbean, based in Panama City. This position reports to the Deputy Regional Director and provides advisory support to management on all HR-related matters within the region, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Job Purpose
The Human Resources Business Partner serves as a key advisor to management within the UN Women Regional Office for the Americas and the Caribbean. This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating critical HR functions including recruitment, compliance, benefits, compensation, and employee relations. The Business Partner plays a vital role in ensuring workforce planning aligns with strategic objectives and leads the regional implementation of HR policies and procedures. They provide essential guidance and support to managers and staff across regional and country offices, ensuring effective HR service delivery and contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of UN Women's operations in the region.
Responsibilities
Oversee and lead the regional implementation of HR policies, guidelines, and procedures, providing technical support and advice to management and staff. Coordinate recruitment and selection processes for both staff and non-staff personnel, including job design, evaluation, and workforce planning. Manage and administer benefits, entitlements, and compensation, liaising with UNDP as needed. Provide guidance on workplace relations, talent management, and performance systems, facilitating mediation and addressing performance issues. Coordinate learning and development initiatives based on assessed training needs. Develop and implement HR systems and reporting mechanisms, analyzing recruitment trends. Supervise the regional HR team and ensure effective communication and outreach regarding HR initiatives.
Work Experience
Requires at least 7 years of progressive experience in human resource management, including specific experience in recruitment, benefits administration, and workplace relations. A minimum of 3 years of international work experience is necessary. Field experience and experience as a HR Business Partner are considered assets, as is experience in leading a team.
