Project Coordination Associate
Organizational Context
The International Trade Centre (ITC), a joint agency of the WTO and UN, focuses on SME success and trade-led growth in Iraq. This role is based in Basra, supporting ITC's project offices in Iraq and integrating with the UN Country Team. The Project Coordination Associate will work in Basra and neighbouring governorates in Southern Iraq.
Job Purpose
The Project Coordination Associate will support the efficient implementation, monitoring, and delivery of ITC's projects in Basra and surrounding governorates in Southern Iraq. This involves working closely with implementing partners and local stakeholders to ensure effective coordination, communication, and collaboration. The role also contributes to research, needs assessments, and beneficiary identification, aiming to foster trade-led growth and inclusive prosperity within the region. The position is for one year with a possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting the implementation of project activities in Basra and neighbouring governorates, and developing/maintaining relationships with implementing partners and local stakeholders. The role involves organizing meetings with local authorities, conducting field visits for monitoring and providing technical support, and reporting challenges with proposed solutions. Additionally, the Associate will support the development and execution of project activities like surveys and workshops, facilitate communication between project teams and stakeholders, and contribute to data collection and analysis for reporting and M&E. Support for logistical arrangements and ensuring compliance with security measures and ITC procedures are also required.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of experience in programme or project administration, technical cooperation, or a related area is required. This can be reduced to five years for candidates with a first-level university degree. Experience with government agencies, private sector organizations, NGOs, and in the agriculture/agri-food sector is desirable, as is experience in stakeholder engagement, communication, and data analysis.
