Diversity and Inclusion Specialist
Organizational Context
The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF), under the Office of Investment Management (OIM), manages a global investment portfolio exceeding $100 billion. OIM's diverse staff, representing over 30 countries, are based in New York. This role supports OIM's commitment to diversity and inclusion within its investment management operations.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to strengthen the UNJSPF's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a specific focus on anti-racism, gender equality, and disability inclusion. The specialist will develop and deliver training materials and workshops, providing guidance to staff members. The role involves identifying areas for improvement within the organization's DEI initiatives and proposing actionable recommendations to foster a more inclusive work environment. The ultimate goal is to enhance the organization's capacity to promote and embed diversity and inclusion principles across all its operations and staff interactions.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include planning and developing content for diversity and inclusion workshops in collaboration with stakeholders, focusing on anti-racism, gender equality, and disability inclusion. The specialist will be responsible for delivering five distinct training sessions and providing essential follow-up support to participants. Additionally, the role entails identifying specific areas within the organization where diversity and inclusion practices can be improved and formulating concrete recommendations to address these areas. The consultant may also be assigned other related duties as required to support the broader objectives of the Office of Investment Management.
Work Experience
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience is required in human resources, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), education, facilitation, or coaching. This experience should demonstrate a strong understanding and practical application of DEI principles within an organizational context.
