Organizational Context
The UN Secretariat, specifically the Resident Coordinator System in Cuba, aims to strengthen its capacity to communicate strategic priorities on social media. This role supports positioning the UN's interagency work and results to national counterparts, international partners, and internal staff.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to enhance the UN's communication efforts in Cuba through effective social media management. The Assistant Community Manager will develop and execute social media strategies, create engaging multimedia content, and manage online communities to increase visibility and impact. This position contributes to positioning the UN's work on sustainable development and interagency initiatives, fostering stronger engagement with strategic audiences and supporting the overall communication objectives of the UN in Cuba.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement monthly social media plans, aligning with global and country-specific UN priorities. Create engaging multimedia content (posts, videos, infographics) for Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, ensuring at least two daily posts and weekly website updates highlighting interagency work. Monitor social media analytics, propose strategies to improve content, increase audience engagement, and expand partnerships. Respond to audience interactions, flag reputational risks, and propose advocacy actions. Support event coverage and assist in maintaining the UN Cuba website. Identify and utilize UN resources for content creation.
Work Experience
At least six months of experience in social media management and community management is required. Experience in video and infographic production/editing is desirable.
