Organizational Context

Job Purpose
The purpose of this internship is to provide support to the Secretariat of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety. The intern will contribute to research efforts aimed at identifying potential partners and informing the Special Envoy's activities. Key contributions include drafting communications to enhance the visibility of road safety issues, researching the link between road safety and SDGs, and assisting with events, campaigns, and social media activities. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in international road safety advocacy and project support within a UN framework.
Responsibilities
The intern will conduct research to identify potential partners and inform the activities of the Special Envoy for Road Safety. Responsibilities include drafting articles, briefing notes, and other outreach materials to increase awareness of the global road safety crisis. The intern will also research initiatives connecting road safety with other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, the role involves supporting planned events, campaigns, projects, and activities for the Special Envoy, as well as assisting with social media engagement. Other duties as requested by the supervisor will also be undertaken.
