Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the Division for Inclusive Social Development (DISD) in its communications and digital outreach efforts. The intern will assist in promoting DISD's activities, programmes, intergovernmental processes, and policy initiatives across various digital platforms, with a particular focus on social media. Key areas of focus include follow-up to major summits and declarations, and promoting key intergovernmental processes such as the Commission for Social Development and the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The role contributes to enhancing the visibility and impact of DISD's work on social development globally.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the development and dissemination of social media content across platforms like Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube for DISD activities. This includes drafting social media posts, captions, key messages, and promotional texts. Responsibilities extend to supporting digital communications for specific events and initiatives, such as follow-up to the Second World Summit for Social Development and the Doha Political Declaration, as well as major intergovernmental processes like CSocD65 and COSP20. The intern will also assist in creating and packaging content (quotes, photos, videos, graphics) for social media, help coordinate communications calendars, identify cross-promotion opportunities, monitor social media engagement, and contribute ideas for increasing audience engagement and visibility.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this internship. However, a relevant field of study is necessary. Interns are responsible for their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses.
