National Consultant for Monitoring and Coordination under Grenada’s National Inventory of Banks of Waste-Controlled Substances and Development of a National Plan for Management of These Substances

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority. Its Law Division, through the OzonAction Branch, supports the Montreal Protocol. This role supports Grenada's National Ozone Unit in implementing a project to inventory and manage waste-controlled substances, funded by the Multilateral Fund.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to ensure the effective and efficient completion of activities for Grenada's National Inventory of Banks Project. The consultant will support the preparation of an inventory of Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) banks and a national plan for their management. This involves data collection, stakeholder engagement, and coordination with national and international partners to inform government policy and ensure compliance with international agreements. The role is crucial for providing comprehensive data to the Government of Grenada for informed decision-making and effective environmental management.
Responsibilities
The National Consultant will provide administrative support for data collection related to the ODS banks inventory. Key responsibilities include leading stakeholder consultations to gather input and validate project deliverables, such as the inventory and national management plan. The consultant will collaborate closely with UNEP's international and independent consultants. Additionally, the role involves supporting the National Ozone Unit in establishing and coordinating a national expert team. The consultant will also facilitate stakeholder meetings and events to disseminate project results and technical information, preparing necessary reports and ensuring adherence to gender mainstreaming policies.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of experience working with a National Ozone Unit at the national level, with an understanding of the refrigeration and air conditioning sector, is required. At least two years of experience in project implementation and reporting, including preparing progress reports and organizing stakeholder consultations, is also necessary.
