Information Systems Officer (ERP Solution Architect - Oracle Cloud Financials)

The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) provides retirement, death, and disability benefits to over 90,000 beneficiaries and services more than 130,000 participants across 25 member organizations. The Pension Administration (UNJSPF-PA) comprises 282 staff across four duty stations. This temporary Information Systems Officer role is within the Enterprise Applications Section of the Information Management Systems Service in New York.
Job Purpose
This role serves as the lead ERP Solution Architect for Oracle Cloud Financials, responsible for the end-to-end solution design, configuration alignment, and overall architecture. The position ensures that Oracle Cloud Financials capabilities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Budgetary Control, Subledger Accounting, and Financial Reporting, are effectively implemented and integrated with the pension administration system and other enterprise platforms. The architect will oversee financial process design, dataflows, controls, reporting needs, and integrations, ensuring alignment with Oracle ERP business processes and financial controls. This includes leading solution design within the broader enterprise application landscape and providing technical leadership for complex initiatives, focusing on non-functional requirements like performance, scalability, security, and operational resilience.
Responsibilities
Serve as the lead ERP Solution Architect for Oracle Cloud Financials, overseeing solution design, configuration, and end-to-end architecture across all financial capabilities (GL, AP, AR, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Budgetary Control, Subledger Accounting, Financial Reporting). Design and manage Oracle Cloud Financials solution architecture, including financial processes, dataflows, controls, reporting, and integrations with the pension administration system, Oracle EBS, and other enterprise platforms. Ensure integrations utilize appropriate enterprise patterns (e.g., Oracle Integration Cloud, API-led connectivity) and align with Oracle ERP business processes and financial controls. Lead solution design within the enterprise application landscape, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity with ITSM/HRSD/CSM platforms and the pension administration platform. Provide technical leadership for complex Oracle Cloud Financials initiatives, owning architecture decisions, design sign-offs, and non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, security, auditability, resilience). Establish and maintain solution design standards, reference architectures, and governance practices, contributing to architecture review boards. Mentor ERP analysts, engineers, and developers, reviewing their technical deliverables. Facilitate communication with vendors and business stakeholders, acting as the technical counterpart for Oracle Cloud Financials discussions. Champion AI-assisted development and automation tools to enhance solution quality and delivery efficiency.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of seven years of progressive experience as an ERP or Technical Architect in Oracle Cloud, with significant experience in Oracle Cloud Financials (GL, AP, AR, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Budgetary Control, Subledger Accounting, Financial Reporting) within SaaS environments. Also requires at least five years of hands-on experience designing or overseeing integrations for Oracle Cloud Financials, including Oracle Integration Cloud and API-led connectivity. Three years of experience designing or supporting integrations for pension administration, payroll, or core financial platforms is needed. Experience with financial dataflows, reporting integrations, and interfaces between Oracle Cloud ERP/Financials and enterprise data platforms/warehouses is desirable.
