Organizational Context
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) seeks a consultant to support the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) Technical Assistance (TA) projects in Chile. This role involves conducting post-implementation evaluations and stakeholder interviews, contributing to the successful delivery and monitoring of climate technology initiatives within the region.
Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the successful delivery and monitoring of CTCN Technical Assistance (TA) projects in Chile. This involves conducting comprehensive ex-post evaluations of TA projects, engaging with key stakeholders through interviews, and supporting the development of essential project management tools. The consultant will also be responsible for developing reports on action item status, documenting challenges and lessons learned, and providing recommendations on deliverable quality. Ultimately, the role contributes to the effective implementation and continuous improvement of climate technology solutions in Chile.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting the creation of a database for TA participants and their responses, and developing a plan for post-intervention evaluations. The consultant will prepare reports detailing the status of action items for each TA project and compile a document outlining challenges and lessons learned from completed projects in Chile. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and recommending improvements on the quality of project deliverables, including completion reports. The consultant will also provide local and regional intelligence and actively support the monitoring of the CTCN post-TA pipeline in Chile.
Work Experience
Requires at least 10 years of professional experience in public policies, strategic leadership, productive development, and innovation. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of experience in public governance and inter-ministerial coordination is necessary. Experience in designing and implementing development tools focused on sustainability, gender equality, and climate change is also required.
