Organizational Context

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva seeks an intern to support the UNRSF Secretariat. This role is for a 6-month duration and operates within the framework of the UN Secretariat's mission. The intern will contribute to the operational and programmatic activities of the UNRSF, gaining exposure to international organizational processes.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this internship is to provide support to the UNRSF Secretariat in Geneva for a period of six months. The intern will assist in various critical functions, including the Call for Proposals process, data visualization for impact attribution, event and campaign support, social media engagement, and results-based management. This role is designed to offer a valuable learning experience, allowing the intern to contribute to the UNRSF's objectives while developing practical skills in project support, data analysis, and communication within an international setting.

Responsibilities

The intern will support the Call for Proposals process by screening proposals, managing submission databases, and compiling information for reports. Responsibilities include assisting with data visualization to enhance impact attribution and supporting the UNRSF's events, campaigns, and projects. The role also involves contributing to the UNRSF's social media activities and supporting results-based management efforts and project monitoring. Additionally, the intern will perform other requested duties to aid the secretariat's operations.

No prior working experience is required for this United Nations Internship Programme. The focus is on the applicant's current educational background, advanced coursework, or skills that can benefit the organization during the internship period.

Skills

Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information. Basic understanding of project and document management. Event facilitation skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Strong oral and written communication in English. Fluency in French or Spanish is an asset.
