Organizational Context

The International Trade Centre (ITC), a joint agency of the UN and WTO, aims to foster export success for small businesses in developing economies. The WEIDE Fund, a USD 50 million initiative by WTO and ITC, empowers women entrepreneurs through international trade and digitalization, enhancing their access to finance, skills, markets, and networks.

Job Purpose

The Partnerships and Community Consultant will develop and implement a proactive strategy to identify and engage strategic local and international partners for the WEIDE Fund. This role is crucial for securing tangible growth opportunities for WEIDE SMEs in areas such as finance, market access, and digital platforms. The consultant will lead outreach, negotiations, and follow-up, converting potential partnerships into confirmed commitments and activities. By facilitating targeted introductions and managing the day-to-day operations of partnerships, the consultant will directly contribute to creating a more inclusive and effective business ecosystem for women entrepreneurs, supporting their success in international and digital trade.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a partnership-development strategy targeting organizations that can provide growth opportunities to WEIDE SMEs. Identify and engage strategic local and international partners, leading outreach, negotiations, and follow-up to secure commitments. Develop joint workplans with partners, defining activities, beneficiaries, and timelines. Facilitate targeted introductions and referrals between WEIDE SMEs and partners. Coordinate the day-to-day management of WEIDE’s partnerships in collaboration with country teams and the WEIDE Secretariat. Leverage National Advisory Group members as strategic partners and support related meetings. Maintain a comprehensive partnership tracker and prepare progress updates. Coordinate engagement with WEIDE-supported SMEs and foster an active business community.

Work Experience

A minimum of two years of relevant experience in partnerships and donor management is required. This includes a proven track record in coordinating partnerships, supporting donor-funded initiatives, and developing related content. Experience in coordinating virtual and in-person events is also necessary.

Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Demonstrated client orientation and ability to respond to diverse stakeholder needs. Ability to coordinate and implement activities effectively. Ability to develop and administer online surveys. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
