The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is a UN organization established in 1949, mandated to assist and protect approximately 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to support their human development potential pending a just solution to their plight. UNRWA operates across Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, and Gaza Strip, providing essential services.

Job Purpose

This role is crucial for supporting UNRWA's operations by preparing essential drafting and design work using AutoCAD software. The Technical Assistant will produce site surveys, schematic designs, concept designs, master plans, and detailed architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical drawings. The position also involves creating 3D presentation drawings, diagrams, and charts to aid team presentations. By ensuring the accurate and timely production of these technical documents, the role directly contributes to the continuous flow of operations, assists Division Heads with daily tasks, and supports the design and remodeling of buildings and housing projects, ultimately aiding the agency in its mission to serve Palestine refugees.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility is to prepare all necessary drafting work using AutoCAD software, including site surveys, schematic designs, concept designs, master plans, and detailed architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical drawings. This includes producing 3-dimensional presentation drawings, diagrams, and charts for team presentations. The role also involves generating hard copies of designs and plans for supervisor review and approval. Additionally, the Technical Assistant will support Division Heads in daily operations and produce drawings for remodeling existing buildings and designing housing and shelters. The incumbent will perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Work Experience

Requires five years of experience in AutoCAD drawing, drafting, graphic works, and 3-dimensional applications. Experience with engineering-related office equipment like plotters and photocopiers is also required. Proficiency in written and spoken English and Arabic is necessary.
