Organizational Context

The UN Video Section, within the Department of Global Communications, produces video content on UN priority themes like climate change, SDGs, and human rights. This role is situated within the News and Media Division and reports to the Multimedia TV Producer/Managing Editor of UNifeed and Chief, Arabic News.

Job Purpose

This role supports the UN Video Section in producing and delivering daily video packages and online content for UNifeed. The incumbent will research information, assist in the production and editing of news packages from Gaza and the field, and manage video distribution and archives. Key contributions include researching diverse sources, suggesting content ideas, obtaining clearances, and preparing materials for the UNifeed website, ensuring adherence to UN standards and monitoring social media feedback. The role also involves recording events, directing shoots, and interviewing UN officials.

Responsibilities

Provide specialized assistance in producing and delivering daily UNifeed packages and website posts. Research information from various sources for communications products. Organize and execute special coverage, coordinating with partners and media. Handle administrative coordination for training programs. Oversee video material distribution and manage film/video archives. Assist in scriptwriting, editing, and production of news packages from Gaza and the field, including shot listing and obtaining clearances. Participate in daily UNifeed productions, including filming, directing, digital editing, and arranging interviews. Identify and prepare new material for the UNifeed website, editing it to UN standards and monitoring social media. Perform other assigned duties.

Work Experience

A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in public information, journalism, or international relations is required (five years with a first-level university degree). Experience in video production, filming, digital editing, and a news environment is essential. International field experience, social media production, and content repurposing are desirable.
