Job Purpose
This consultancy requires a Documentary Videomaker to produce audiovisual materials documenting and disseminating key components of the 'Weaving the city' project in Juiz de Fora. The role involves creating a mini-documentary on the Municipal Cemetery, a series of short videos highlighting its significance, and an institutional video on a related tourist route. The objective is to communicate the project's activities and results to diverse audiences, supporting UN-Habitat's mandate in Brazil by enhancing visibility and understanding of sustainable urban development initiatives.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for the end-to-end audiovisual production process. This includes planning, filming, and editing content such as interviews, institutional footage, and site recordings. Key duties involve conducting interviews with various stakeholders, capturing supporting footage (B-roll), and ensuring high technical and narrative quality in line with UN-Habitat's standards. Responsibilities also include organizing and archiving all audiovisual materials, managing software licenses, and providing all raw footage and project files. The consultant must adhere to UN-Habitat's communication guidelines and complete mandatory security training.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of professional experience in video editing and audiovisual production is required, supported by a portfolio. Experience in documentary production and audiovisual storytelling related to gender issues is essential. Experience with urban issues, diversity, social participation, or community-based initiatives in Brazil is desirable.
Skills
Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve). Demonstrated knowledge of audiovisual production techniques, including filming, lighting, and audio capture. Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Adobe Photoshop). Strong professionalism, planning, organization, and communication abilities. Teamwork and ability to work in multicultural environments. Fluency in Portuguese is required; Spanish and English are desirable.
