Organizational Context

The UN Resident Coordinator Offices (UN RCO), part of the UN Secretariat's Development Operations Coordination Office (DCO), support countries in achieving development priorities and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This role is within the UN DCO in Pristina, Kosovo, reporting to the Head of the DCO. The office focuses on data and statistics management, interacting with various stakeholders to advance common priorities.

Job Purpose

This role supports the UN Development System's reform, focusing on data and statistics management and analysis to effectively achieve the 2030 Agenda and SDGs. The incumbent will implement data strategies, analyze trends, and maintain databases. Key contributions include developing reports and dashboards, preparing evidence for inter-agency groups, and facilitating coordination among UN entities. The position aims to enhance data-driven decision-making and reporting within the UN Kosovo Team (UNKT) and support the UN 2.0 shift towards data, digital, and innovation.

Responsibilities

Implement databases, data collection systems, and analytics strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Analyze and interpret trends using statistical methods, identifying key features and variables in data. Improve data analytics processes, acquire and clean data, and maintain databases. Stay updated on UN efforts for co-designing digital tools for SDG indicator tracking. Develop reports and dashboards to summarize findings for management and stakeholders. Compile data insights and prepare supporting materials for communications. Assist with data preparation, preliminary analysis, verification, and routine reporting tasks. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Experience

A minimum of two years of progressive experience in translating business requirements into technical solutions is required. Experience communicating complex technical information to diverse audiences is also required. Experience in data analysis quality assurance, project management, and data validation is desirable.
