Job Purpose
This role provides essential support and coordination for the successful development and implementation of projects, particularly the GTEX Egypt initiative, which is part of the broader GTEX/MENATEX programme. The position aims to enhance the export competitiveness of the fibres, textiles, and clothing sector in developing countries, ensuring businesses can meet evolving market demands, including sustainability and circularity requirements. The role contributes to retaining employment and creating new, higher-value jobs by promoting the export of quality, socially, and environmentally conscious products, driving systemic change towards a more sustainable, circular, and digitalized industry.
Responsibilities
The Associate Programme Advisor will facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programme and project activities. This includes monitoring progress, analyzing specific aspects of project development, reviewing documents, identifying issues, and recommending corrective actions. The role involves conducting research, collecting and analyzing data, and providing substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation. Additionally, the advisor will assist in consultative assignments, facilitate workshops, and support the development of action plans for clients. Responsibilities also include contributing to written outputs, preparing background papers and reports, and providing administrative and substantive support for meetings and conferences. Outreach activities, training workshop participation, and field missions for data collection are also key duties. The role also involves contributing to communication tools and marketing materials for project outreach.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management, administration, or international trade is required. Experience in the fibre, textiles, and clothing or manufacturing sectors is desirable, as is experience supporting enterprises and business support organizations in developing countries.
