The Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) of the United Nations is driving the organization's digital transformation. The Enterprise Solutions Service (OICT/ESS) develops and supports enterprise solutions. This role is within OICT/ESS, hosted by the UN Global Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation Centre in Deqing, Zhejiang, China.
Job Purpose
This role supports the Quality Assurance and Quality Control of various applications developed by the UN's Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT). The primary purpose is to ensure the quality and reliability of software solutions through comprehensive testing. This involves creating and executing test plans, test cases, and automation scripts to validate functional and technical requirements. The position contributes to the overall improvement of the OICT's QA processes, ensuring that developed applications meet organizational standards and user needs, thereby supporting the UN's digital transformation goals.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for assigned software modules, adhering to organizational quality standards. Create automation scripts to streamline repetitive validation tasks and enhance testing efficiency. Conduct system and regression testing to validate functional and technical requirements against specifications. Employ standard testing techniques, including smoke, sanity, black-box, and regression testing, to verify application functionality. Identify, create, and manage test data for System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Contribute technical expertise to the QA process to improve solution design quality. Provide detailed documentation of changes and manage version control using available systems like Git.
Work Experience
Requires 2 years of hands-on Quality Assurance (QA) experience with web applications and mobile apps across various browsers and devices. Demonstrable experience with automation tools such as Cypress or Playwright is necessary. Experience with AI and GIS is desirable.
