Organizational Context
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in the Kyrgyz Republic supports justice sector reform, aiming to improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility. This role supports the EU-funded "Justice Sector Reform and Digitalisation in the Kyrgyz Republic (JUST4ALL 2)" project during its inception and initial implementation phases.
Job Purpose
This role provides crucial project support to the UNODC's "JUST4ALL 2" project in the Kyrgyz Republic. The Individual Contractor will assist in project planning, stakeholder mapping, and the preparation of essential background and briefing materials. Key contributions include coordinating consultations and meetings, organizing the initial Project Steering Committee meeting, and supporting the execution of early project activities. The purpose is to ensure the smooth inception and initial implementation of the project, contributing to the advancement of people-centered justice through digitalization and reform.
Responsibilities
The Individual Contractor will conduct research on justice sector needs and reforms, preparing background notes and analytical summaries. They will maintain a database of justice sector stakeholders and map ongoing reform initiatives. Responsibilities also include supporting the organization of the first Project Steering Committee meeting by preparing agendas, coordinating invitations, and compiling meeting materials. Furthermore, the role involves assisting with the planning and execution of project activities like workshops and consultations, providing on-site administrative support, and preparing meeting minutes and activity summaries. General project support includes translating and formatting documents, managing project documentation, and ensuring proper filing and archiving.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of experience in clerical, logistical, or administrative support is required. Experience in supporting the organization of meetings, workshops, or consultations, and in preparing project documentation is essential. Prior experience supporting projects in governance, rule of law, justice sector, or human rights is desirable.
Skills
Proficiency in oral and written English and Russian is required. Knowledge of Kyrgyz is an asset. Skills include research, project support, stakeholder mapping, database maintenance, meeting coordination, document preparation, translation, and administrative support.
