Job Purpose
This internship aims to provide a learning opportunity within the Transport Division/Transport Research and Policy Section of ESCAP. The role involves data analysis, research, report preparation, and communication of findings, offering valuable exposure to international transport policy and research methodologies within a UN context. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, international environment, contributing to the advancement of sustainable mobility in the Asia-Pacific region.
Responsibilities
The intern will conduct research on themes such as environmental and social dimensions of transport, climate change impacts, emissions reduction, sustainable urban mobility, electric mobility, and resilient transport systems. Responsibilities include supporting the review and finalization of the Transport and Communications Bulletin, maintaining author contacts, and editing manuscripts. The intern will also assist in preparing case studies, background materials for meetings, and research outputs like policy briefs and technical reports. Data collection, analysis of transport development trends, and report preparation with appropriate visualizations are key duties. Additionally, the intern will prepare presentations on findings and assist with advocacy materials and day-to-day divisional tasks.
Work Experience
