Job Purpose
This internship within the Local2030 Coalition Secretariat in Bilbao, Spain, focuses on advocacy. The intern will support the Coalition's efforts to accelerate the localization of the 2030 Agenda by assisting with event organization, communication, and the development of advocacy materials. The role contributes to building capacities for localization, scaling innovative actions, and enhancing multi-stakeholder dialogue to achieve sustainable urban development goals and reduce inequality, discrimination, and poverty.
Responsibilities
The intern will contribute to the Local2030 Coalition Secretariat's advocacy efforts, working with partners and UN members. Key duties include assisting in organizing and planning events by preparing documentation (concepts, agendas, briefing notes), drafting event descriptions aligned with advocacy strategies, and supporting event invitations through communication and follow-up. The role also involves aiding in the development of key messages, briefing materials, and presentations. Logistical support for events, including speaker coordination and travel arrangements, will be provided. Additionally, the intern will assist with note-taking, drafting reports and minutes, and managing documentation and follow-up actions.
Work Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary. Previous UN internship experience is not mandatory but may be beneficial.

Excellent command of English and Spanish (oral and written), strong writing skills, ability to tailor language to audience, computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite), demonstrated interest in UN work, commitment to UN ideals, ability to interact with diverse cultural backgrounds, organizational and planning skills, communication skills, and database management.
