This role supports the Mesoamerica office's operations and project implementation through essential mobility services.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide essential transportation and mobility services for the ONU-Habitat Mesoamerica office in Mexico City. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of personnel and materials, supporting office operations, and facilitating logistical needs. This includes managing vehicle maintenance, adhering to UN protocols, and maintaining clear communication with office staff to ensure seamless execution of activities and project implementation within the region. The role directly contributes to the office's ability to achieve its mandate of promoting sustainable urban development.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include operating UN vehicles for official travel, transporting personnel to meetings and events, and assisting with airport pickups/drop-offs and customs procedures for international staff. The role also involves ensuring the vehicle is in optimal condition through regular checks, maintenance, and minor repairs, and managing any necessary external servicing. The driver must maintain the vehicle's documentation, adhere to UN security protocols, and keep a logbook. Additionally, responsibilities extend to distributing correspondence and materials, supporting office operations as needed, and maintaining clear communication with the office to ensure efficient service delivery and project support.

Work Experience

A minimum of 3 years of experience as a driver is required. Candidates must have a clean driving record with no traffic violations. Experience with vehicle maintenance and knowledge of diplomatic driving protocols are desirable.
