Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA) Communications Team in creating and disseminating engaging multimedia content. The intern will contribute to enhancing OSAA's visibility and outreach by assisting in graphic design, video production, social media management, and web content development. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in communications within an international organization, supporting the UN's efforts in promoting peace, security, and development in Africa through effective visual and digital storytelling.
Responsibilities
Assist in the layout and design of OSAA knowledge products, including factsheets, policy briefs, and papers. Create digital assets such as flyers, visuals, and graphics, and provide technical assistance for visual assets in OSAA publications. Support the production and editing of multimedia content for OSAA's social media accounts and website. Prepare multimedia content for social media and web platforms, and help improve the layout and presentation of existing content. Assist in creating simple data visualizations for reports and presentations, and provide technical input to enhance the visual quality of OSAA materials.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this internship. However, a strong academic background in a relevant field and practical skills in graphic design and video editing are essential. Familiarity with digital content creation and social media platforms is beneficial.
