Job Purpose
The Partnerships Officer provides crucial support to the UN Resident Coordinator and UN Country Team (UNCT) in Rabat, Morocco, for developing and implementing strategic partnerships aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This involves advising on partnership strategies, coordinating with UN entities and external stakeholders (including civil society and the private sector), and facilitating resource mobilization. The role contributes to strengthening the UN's value proposition for partnerships, managing risks, and ensuring alignment with UN frameworks and corporate policies. Additionally, the officer supports financing for development initiatives and knowledge management related to partnerships and resource mobilization.
Responsibilities
The Partnerships Officer is responsible for providing substantive support for strategic planning and coordination of UNCT strategic partnerships with civil society, the private sector, and other entities for SDG achievement. This includes advising on and implementing the UN Partnership Strategy, supporting working groups, and liaising with UN entities. The role involves serving as a key contact for external stakeholders, building interfaces with development partners, and providing support for risk identification and due diligence. The officer also participates in joint partnership and resource mobilization initiatives, supports the management of pooled funds, and advises on strategies for financing SDG achievement. Furthermore, the position contributes to knowledge management and capacity development related to partnerships and resource mobilization, including research, analysis of best practices, and data collection for reporting.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of progressive experience in strategic partnership support, project management, and resource mobilization within development cooperation is required. Demonstrated experience in developing strategic partnerships with government, private sector, and civil society is essential. Experience navigating Morocco's development landscape, resource mobilization strategies, and preparing project proposals is also required. Experience with inclusion strategies, UN interagency coordination, knowledge management, and financing for SDGs is desirable.
