Organizational Context
The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) is seeking an individual to support its logistics operations. This role is based in Bangui and will report to the unit chief, contributing to the efficient management of the mission's assets and supplies.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide essential support to warehouse management within MINUSCA. The incumbent will assist in the preparation, dispatch, and tracking of goods, ensuring that all items are accounted for and distributed according to approved transfer orders and requests. This involves meticulous attention to detail in receiving, inspecting, storing, and inventorying materials. The role is crucial for maintaining accurate stock levels and facilitating the smooth flow of resources to various sectors and end-users, thereby directly supporting the operational effectiveness of the mission in the Central African Republic.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include assisting warehouse managers in preparing items for end-users and dispatching them to various sectors based on approved transfer orders. This involves collecting and packaging articles, participating in goods inspection in collaboration with the Receiving and Inspection Unit, and assisting with stock cycle counts and data updates. The role also entails organizing received items in storage (shelves and containers) post-inspection, and ensuring the tidiness of the warehouse and workspace. Additionally, the incumbent will support the loading and unloading of materials and perform any other assigned tasks by the supervisor.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in roles with increasing responsibility is required. Experience should be in administrative services, finance, accounting, audit, contracts, human resources, or a related field.
Skills
Proficiency in French (oral and written) is required. Knowledge of English is desirable. Skills include warehouse assistance, inventory management, goods inspection, data entry, and item preparation for dispatch.
