Job Purpose
This role serves as a Senior Advisor to the CCAC Board on Innovative Finance for Super Pollutants. The primary purpose is to provide expert advice on innovative financing approaches for super pollutant mitigation, particularly methane. This involves assessing the financing landscape, engaging with stakeholders including development banks and governments, and developing concrete proposals for financing mechanisms. The role directly contributes to updating the CCAC Finance Strategy and strengthening the connection between policy support and financial implementation, ensuring the CCAC can effectively help governments access and coordinate finance from diverse sources.
Responsibilities
The Senior Advisor will assess innovative financing opportunities for super pollutants, providing strategic advice to inform the update of the CCAC Finance Strategy. Key duties include mapping the financing landscape, conducting targeted outreach to multilateral development banks, governments, and financial institutions, and advising the CCAC Board. The role involves designing and facilitating dialogues on innovative finance mechanisms, developing concrete proposals for these mechanisms, and providing recommendations for the updated Finance Strategy. Responsibilities also include preparing presentations and advisory briefings for the Board and participating in Board meetings to discuss guidance and next steps.
Work Experience
A minimum of 15 years of progressive professional experience in development finance, climate finance, public policy, or international financial institutions is required. Demonstrated experience in developing innovative financing strategies, working with multilateral development banks, advising senior stakeholders, and translating analysis into viable financing proposals is essential.
