Organizational Context

Job Purpose
The Associate Project Evaluation Officer will support the Lead Evaluator in conducting a high-quality, timely final evaluation of the UN Peacebuilding Fund project in Guinea. This involves assisting in data collection, analysis, and report drafting to assess the project's contribution to peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and human rights promotion. The role is crucial for providing insights into the project's effectiveness, efficiency, and impact, ensuring accountability and informing future interventions. The evaluation will cover key areas such as the protection of human rights defenders, combating hate speech, and improving human rights within the justice system, ultimately contributing to the UN's mandate in Guinea.
Responsibilities
The Associate Project Evaluation Officer will support the Lead Evaluator throughout the evaluation process, focusing on data collection, review, and report writing. Key duties include participating in launch meetings and reference group discussions, contributing to document analysis and scoping interviews, and assisting with field data collection in Conakry and other priority areas. This involves facilitating stakeholder access and utilizing local languages. The role also entails supporting quantitative and qualitative data analysis and contributing to the drafting of evaluation reports and presentations. The Associate will report to the Lead Evaluator, with overall supervision from the Evaluation Manager, who approves all deliverables in consultation with the Reference Group.
Work Experience
A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated relevant professional experience is required. This experience should be at the national level and focus on monitoring, evaluation, reporting, or research. Experience in supporting evaluations, particularly within the context of peacebuilding or human rights projects, would be beneficial.
Skills
Data collection and analysis (quantitative and qualitative), report writing, document analysis, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, understanding of human rights and peacebuilding concepts, proficiency in French, intermediate English proficiency.
